Sudden Infant Death Syndrome

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, also know as SIDS. Is when an healthy baby from the ages of 1 month to 1 year, die unexpectanly. But sometimes it might happen at a different time.
It usually happens after baby has been to bed.
SIDS can happen to anyone. And is a very sad thing. Especially for the parents. Is something you never forget. There is no cure, and not much on it either. Some Doctors and scientist say that it has to do with a part in the brain, called the medulla oblongata. The medulla oblongata has to do with controlling the breathing and blood functions.
Here in the United States some people call it, crib death. As people say not to place your babies to bed on their stomachs. But theres more to that. Some parents think that if they place their babies on their backs, they can choke if they spit up. So there is also the placing your babies on their sides.
But whatever you do, is still tragic. And is something that stays with you forever. I lost a niece to this. And to think about it, today makes it 10 years. Its so sad.She was only one month old. I remember the day. I cried so much my eyes were swollen. At the time I had a 2 month old son.
I could see the pain in my little sisters eyes. It was so weird. After that happen, I couldn't go to bed.I would stay up as long as I could, just starring at my son sleep. If I fell asleep I would jump up and check up on him. And all I have is just one picture of her coming home next to my son.
But she will always been in our hearts.
And to those who have been through this, my sympathy goes out to you. If anyone is looking for information on SIDS. You can always ask your family doctor. And there is also many sites on the web to look up some information.
If you loose your child to SIDS or to anything else. Is always hard and sad. No one like to loose a love one. No one does.
